Put the restaurant’s practical information in a useful order

A visitor arriving on the homepage may be trying to find hours, a menu or the correct contact route quickly.

01

The decision this workflow supports

A visitor arriving on the homepage may be trying to find hours, a menu or the correct contact route quickly. Decide the order around those tasks rather than assuming every visitor wants a long brand introduction first.

02

Put the review process in place

Ask staff which questions they repeatedly answer by phone, then make the relevant approved information easy to find. Give table requests, catering inquiries and the official ordering destination distinct labels. Review the page on a small screen before approving the arrangement.

03

Worked example for your team

Give a colleague three fictional tasks: find tonight’s published service hours, locate the dining menu and ask about a future team lunch. Watch where they look before explaining the page. Record labels that make them hesitate and links that send them to the wrong task. If the team-lunch visitor reaches a generic table request, consider a clearer catering route. The exercise does not require traffic statistics to be useful. It produces a small list of concrete navigation changes that the owner can review against the restaurant’s actual guest questions.

04

Sample wording to approve

“You can find our current hours and menu here. For a table or event, send a request for staff review. Use the restaurant’s official ordering destination if you want to place an order.” This wording is a draft for the restaurant owner to approve before use.

05

Fields for the staff handoff

Staff need page URL, repeated guest question, proposed content position, approved destination, and page owner. Mark uncertain details explicitly and keep the requested action separate from anything restaurant staff have already confirmed.

06

Acceptance tests before use

A visitor can locate hours without guessing. Table requests are not labeled instant bookings. The ordering button leads only to the approved destination. Record the observed result, assign any mismatch, and repeat the affected scenario after correction.
