The decision this workflow supports
A catering page should help an organizer decide whether to ask for a conversation. It does not need to imply that every date, menu or service format is available. Begin with the formats staff are willing to discuss.
Put the review process in place
Outline the approved scope, the details needed for an inquiry and who confirms the next step. Use illustrative examples only when clearly labeled. Place the inquiry form beside the explanation that staff review availability, menu and pricing before any arrangement is agreed.
Worked example for your team
A fictional organizer reads the catering page looking for an office lunch. The page should explain whether that kind of inquiry is within the approved discussion scope and what details staff need next. It should not require the organizer to select a final menu just to ask a question. Ask a reviewer to identify the request status from the page and the receipt. If one says inquiry and the other says order accepted, fix the inconsistency before publishing. The handoff should support a staff conversation rather than simulate checkout.
Sample wording to approve
“Tell us your preferred date, approximate guest count and requested service format. Our catering team will review the inquiry and contact you about options; submitting this form does not place an order.” This wording is a draft for the restaurant owner to approve before use.
Fields for the staff handoff
Staff need approved service description, inquiry fields, example labels, response owner, and last content review. Mark uncertain details explicitly and keep the requested action separate from anything restaurant staff have already confirmed.
Acceptance tests before use
The page distinguishes examples from current offers. The form does not accept payment. The submission wording says inquiry rather than confirmed catering. Record the observed result, assign any mismatch, and repeat the affected scenario after correction.
