Organize restaurant pages with descriptive headings

An event page may contain room information, inquiry instructions and questions about follow-up.

01

The decision this workflow supports

An event page may contain room information, inquiry instructions and questions about follow-up. Clear headings help guests understand those sections without reading every paragraph in order or guessing from visual styling.

02

Put the review process in place

Write headings that describe each section’s task and ask the maintainer to use a logical heading structure. Separate room descriptions from request instructions. Review the page as a list of headings to check whether its organization is still understandable without photographs.

03

Worked example for your team

Take a fictional private-events page with three sections: room descriptions, what to include in an inquiry and what staff confirm afterward. Read only its headings to someone who has not seen the page. They should understand that the final section describes a review process, not a completed booking. If every heading is a slogan, rewrite them to explain the content. Ask the maintainer to inspect the actual heading structure as well. A visually large sentence is not automatically a useful structural heading for people navigating the page in other ways.

04

Sample wording to approve

“Editorial example: use Catering inquiry details above the form explanation and What staff confirm next above the review process. Avoid headings that suggest a table or event is confirmed by submission.” This wording is a draft for the restaurant owner to approve before use.

05

Fields for the staff handoff

Staff need page title, section purpose, heading wording, structure issue, and content owner. Mark uncertain details explicitly and keep the requested action separate from anything restaurant staff have already confirmed.

06

Acceptance tests before use

The heading list describes the page’s main topics. Form instructions are easy to distinguish from venue information. Visual styling does not replace meaningful structure. Record the observed result, assign any mismatch, and repeat the affected scenario after correction.
